Umno sacks Zaid
Umno Supreme Council today sacked Zaid Ibrahim from the party for attending opposition events.
When asked if Zaid had provoked this sort of action from the party by being seen with the opposition, Abdullah said:
"There were wrongdoings by Zaid as he was seen in the company of the opposition leaders. This is something which is against Umno ethics."

To me, Abdullah is so, so pathetic.
Zaid was handpicked by him to lead in law reforms. And yet, barely 6 months after he took the job, Zaid had to resign in frustration. Abdullah's response? Basically, it was a bland "no big loss". Where o where is your reform, noble Abdullah? Are you serious at all? Or is your political survival more important than everything else?
Committed to reform before you leave office, konon. You couldn't let him do his job, you couldn't stop him from resigning, you couldn't even prevent your most ardent reformist from being sacked! For what? Attending opposition functions!
You are already doomed in your political career. Anyone would have thought, hoped, desperately prayed even that you would go out in a blaze of glory. Like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, charging with both guns firing, taking down as many as they could before they bit the dust.
But no...
You present watered down "reforms" such as the MCAC, JAC and what-not, which are nothing more than window dressing. Why bother at all, Mr PM? Who are you kidding? If your racist, corrupt UMNO Supreme Council accepts it, how good can it be?
So the one shining light in the BN has been sacked for trying to do the right thing. In the meantime, the openly corrupt & racist are given free reign to spew their nonsense left, right, centre and abuse opposition members and the general public with draconian laws!

UMNO do not what to change lah... They are so comfortable... Zaid talk too much about changing UMNO that many old folk are not able to follow suit. So, tak yah change lah!!!
