Erasing Altantuya...

SOMEONE is really going through incredible lengths to make sure that Altantuya completely disappears from this world.

1st - all immigration records of her entering Malaysia are erased

2nd - she was blown up into mincemeat

3rd - now the Home Ministry has declared that her name must not be mentioned.

I won't go into the stupidity of all these attempts (although they are all really very, very, very stupid attempts.) But the really tragic questions remain:

Just what has this girl done to deserve such treatment?

Why the need to not only obliterate her physically but also erase even the memory of her?

Murder - we can understand. People all over the world bump each other off for various reasons. But most people will just leave it at that. When the deed is done and the person ceases to exist, the objective of the murder is achieved. Mens rea is satisfied.

What is left to do is usually to erase any evidence that may lead back to the murderer or the act of murder.

But in Altantuya's case, murder was not enough. Erasing evidence was not enough. Somehow, someone thought that she had to be completely obliterated from this world! There is a huge effort to erase her completely from the Malaysian consciousness. From the missing immigration records, to the disintegrated body to the under-reporting of the long drawn out trial, and now to the PENGHARAMAN of her name.

Syed Hamid's latest "checkmate" on the Pakatan Rakyat has made more curious than ever...So I'm just gonna go through each of the points to try and satisfy my own curiosity.

1. Why the need to erase Altantuya's immigration records? What is so dangerous about that? Will investigating her immigration records lead back to the murderer? I fail to see how. It's highly unlikely that she put down "Reason for visit" as "blackmailing the rich and powerful in Malaysia, namely Mr XXX"! Most likely it would be something common like "holiday" or "business". If the immigration records are not potential evidence, why did it have to be erased?

Unless...Altantuya's NAME ITSELF is enough to implicate certain people. That would make sense, wouldn't it? Because people who know about Altantuya will also know who and what she's linked to. Just like if you mention Marylin Monroe, people will think of JFK.

Aaaahhhh...now it makes sense.

So logically, there are some very powerful people who do not want their links to this young single mother exposed. And these people are likely to be DIRECTLY linked to her, so much so that just the mention of her name is enough to expose their links to her. That would imply that they were VERY CLOSE in some capacity. (As to what those implications are, there are plenty of articles on that already.)

And these people are definitely powerful enough to order Altantuya's records to be deleted! Who has that kind of power? Of course, it has to be someone very high up in government, even very high up in the Cabinet! Because Immigration Department is under the purview of the Home Minister, who is a Cabinet Minister. Who is a Cabinet Minister's boss? Only got two - PM & DPM. Of this 2 people, only 1 had been consistently implicated by witnesses and suspects.

2. Why have to blow her up into tiny little pieces? Why can't just dump her body at sea? Disappearing someone can't be too difficult right? There are thousands of unsolved missing persons cases in our police records. Heck, even Bala and Hilmi are missing without trace!

What is it about this young lady that made the people responsible think that normal ways of disposal was not good enough? That she had to be completely, completely "disappeared" without a trace? What kind of feelings inspired this kind of decision?

Must be complete and utter fear and hatred! She was feared and hated so much that just killing her was not enough. Digging a 6-foot hole and burying her body deep in the forest not enough. No. All traces of her had to be removed from God's green earth. There must not be the slightest chance of her remains being discovered. It must seem that she simply got on the flight in Mongolia and vanished without landing on Malaysia.

So, blow up her body into bite-sized pieces in the jungle and leave the morsels for the beasts.

Someone with a conscience would have been squirmish about this "solution". But when you are consumed by powerful emotions like absolute hate, your eyes can be clouded.

Why then was a defenseless mother so feared and hated? She must have had something that could implicate certain people if their association wih her was known. What she had could make those people lose everything.

Who had so much to lose that such a gruesome kill order had to be issued? The two cops testified that they received orders from their superior officer, who coincidentally is also the security officer for a certain top-level politician.

Top-level politician? That's a lot to lose indeed!!

3. Why must her name not be mentioned in politician's ceramah? Altantuya's records of her coming to Malaysia has been erased, her life has been erased from this earth, her body has been erased from this earth, and now even her name must be erased?

After all, it is clear that the whole court process is a farce, and the prosecution has no intention of exposing the truth and convicting those involved. So it's hardly likely that those involved will have anything to lose! I mean, the political analyst is now enjoying his life in merry ole England, isn't he? Hardly likely that the one more powerful than him will face any consequences!

So why so desperate?

What is it about Altantuya that even to mention her name drives such fear into certain people that it has to be banned?

Guilt? Fear? Or is it that a part of Altantuya has not been erased yet? The part that CANNOT BE PHYSICALLY ERASED?

Is that why there was a talisman under the PM's table? Perhaps it is not meant for the current PM (who is a devout Muslim with a family history of Muslim scholarship by the way), but to protect the incoming one?
