Siva Speaks - Perak Suspensions Perfectly Legal!

Reported in the Star:

State Assembly Speaker V. Sivakumar said he had “no choice” but to make the order as the seven were found to have clearly broken the rules of the state constitution.

He said Article 16(6) of the state constitution stated that the mentri besar of the day could seek an audience with the Sultan of Perak to dissolve the assembly if he ceased to command the confidence of the majority.

“The Clause clearly refers to the mentri besar at the time which was Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin. No one else but the mentri besar has the right to seek an audience with the Sultan,” he said.

Sivakumar noted that under the state constitution there was no provision stating that any party suddenly claiming to have the majority could or must see the Sultan of Perak to ask to form the next government.

He said that as the head of the legislative assembly it fell upon him to resolve the constitutional crisis after receiving a complaint from Canning assemblyman Wong Kah Woh.

“After meeting the seven assemblymen, it was clear that they had committed wrong under the state constitution. Therefore, I had no other choice. I had to follow the rules,” he said.

Sivakumar stressed that it was never his intention to commit treason against Sultan Azlan Shah.

“I am also not questioning whether the Sultan has the power to not dissolve the assembly,” he said.

Damn good job, man! Keep up the good work, YB Siva and be strong!!

And to all you UMNO/BN sore losers - grow up and face the voters like jantan la! Jangan asyik nak sembunyi belakang sarung MACC, EC, PDRM, Sultan etc.

Dare to sneak attack and grab power from behind (main dari belakang seems to be Najib's favourite stance, ya!), but don't dare to face elections. But still want to claim to have majority support.

Perasan betol! Sendiri yang salah, nak berlagak-lagak pulak!

Tapi apa nak buat. Dah lama kuncu-kuncu UMNO/BN tak ikut undang-undang, patutlah kurang fasih. PR pulak ada ramai lawyer yang amat fasih dalam undang-undang negara kerana terpaksa cuba mengatasi penyelewengan dan sistem undang-undang negara oleh UMNO/BN.

When you blackmailed the Sultan to illegally hand over the govt to you, you shout "it's done by law"! When people question your power grab, you say "it's the democratic process"! When people prove your power grab is illegal, you shout "derhaka"! When people whack you back with the law, you shout "derhaka and illegal"!

Let me put it in kindergarten terms so even UMNO/BN people can understand:

UMNO/BN power grab - does not follow the law, corruption, threats, and derhaka for blackmailing Baginda Sultan Perakbut still declare themselves democratic, defending the Sultan and legal

PR response - follow the law every time but accused of derhaka, undemocratic and illegal moves.

Hello! The Rakyat have EYES WIDE OPEN ok! Pemikiran kebanyakan rakyat belum lagi mereput sampai ke tahap UMNO/BN lagi.

I say it's high time for the PR to fight back!! Before, the PR may have tried to be Mr Nice Guy, now it's clear they can never have peace to do their work with the BN hounding them.

FIGHT!

EXPOSE their all the BN's dirty secrets!! Destroy them before the the country is destroyed!

We know the MACC, police and the present govt will sweep everything under the carpet but we have the new media where the judge is the public and eventualy the public empowered to make the choice from this internet media and not BN propoganda...Sdr ANWAR show your might now and take over the govt in the next election. Expose all, you will be doing a favour to the rakyat............
